The Process

SurfCast started as a simple question: what's the water doing today? Instead of squinting at NOAA tables, we designed a beach-day companion with the warmth of a sun-bleached beach sign — serif wordmark, cream and coral palette, and a tide chart drawn as an actual rolling wave line you scrub through time. Surf conditions are distilled into a single daily score with plain-English reasoning ("junky & blown out", "small, knee-to-waist"), pulled from NOAA tide stations and marine weather data.

The Product

An installable web app that lives on the home screen like a native one: day-strip forecast navigation, tide chart with highs and lows plotted to the minute, hourly surf, water temp and UV, and two hand-tuned themes. Set your beach and a wave-height threshold, and a scheduled job texts you when a good surf day is coming — powered by Supabase, Twilio, and a Vercel cron. Built as our own product, on the same stack we ship to clients.
